Material Transition

Material Transition...

This project is pretty straight forward, I am taking a high poly object and will be transitioning the material using blueprinting by the end of the project. In addition to having 3 particles that will play during a video sequence.

This project has sparked a love for creating detailed texture maps but also a interest in materials and utilizing them in interesting ways. This isn't my first time using PBR materials, but it is the most in depth I have used the material editor.

Particles are something new that I have not used before, and after this project I would say that I had a good first impression. I have alot more ideas for particles in my other projects. Creating the Vape smoke, the sparks and the flame particle were tricky in there own ways. But ultimately solving them was the best part of the project.

With the input of my peers I decided to take the texture a different direction. Not much of a style change, but more of a color change. I had received a lot of input on the fact that it was hard to read the whole model, the grey tones made it hard to see the different parts. So I looked at what other colors the vape I was modeling actually came in, and I found the orange to be both very vibrant change and one of their better options of color choices. The reason I choice to pick a color that the actual product comes in was because I wanted to be able to hand people the actual vape and so look at this now look at that, and they would see the very direct relationship the two objects hold.

The Above videos represent where my textures were during the first pass of the project. I took the criticism I recieved and revamped my colors and my UV layout to not only improve the textures but to make rapid changes easier on myself.
